The Pilgrims’ School, Winchester

The Pilgrims’ School educates both the Cathedral Choristers and the Winchester
College Quiristers – there are around 250 pupils in total. The School encourages
exceptional musical achievement in all its pupils, and excels at academics and sport.
The Chamber Choir enjoys a wide-ranging repertoire: it’s not uncommon to find
Bach and the Beach Boys in the same programme! They give regular concerts,
perform at weddings and other events, have provided treble voices for productions
of Carmen and Hansel and Gretel, and performed the likes of Britten’s War Requiem
and the Monteverdi Vespers at The Anvil in Basingstoke, and Winchester Cathedral.
They have just returned from a tour to Italy, where they not only performed to
packed audiences in Sorrento and Ravello, but gave an impromptu rendition of
Funiculì Funiculà atop Vesuvius!
