Katie Gilbert – Soprano Michael Hodges – Pianist
Programme to include songs by Wagner, Barber, Debussy and Rachmaninov
Katie is a local soprano and singing teacher, and a graduate of both Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and the University of Oxford. Originally from the North East, she moved from London to Winchester two years ago with her young family. Currently she teaches singing at Winchester College, and has performed in concerts and recitals across the country. Katie also enjoys leading local community singing groups and helping others to flourish musically.
Michael Hodges read music at Durham where he was Organ Scholar at University College. He subsequently studied singing at the Guildhall, sang bass with the BBC Symphony Chorus and directed the Nonsuch Singers of London. After a professional career in banking, he now freelances as Organist, Pianist and Conductor. He has played at many UK cathedrals and London churches and conducts the St Martin’s Singers, a Devon based choir recently back from a successful tour in Tuscany
