Volodymir Vasilenco – Accordion

Biography

Volodymyr was born in the Chernihiv region of Ukraine. He has studied music since the age of three, ultimately graduating from the music conservatory with a red diploma (highest award). He has participated in various international competitions and has repeatedly held the position of Laureate. He has worked in various musical directions, collectives, and solo.

Before the war, Volodymyr taught at an art college. But with the coming of the war he and his family had to evacuate. For 9 months he remained in Ukraine while his wife Anya, and son Miron found refuge in Winchester. Volodymyr has now been allowed to join his family, and wants to hold concerts to popularise Ukrainian culture.
