Freya Wright – Violin and French Horn
Freya’s first instrument was the violin, which she started playing at the age of 5. She has played in the Hampshire County Youth String Orchestra, and for the last 3 years has been a member of the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra and Hampshire County Youth Chamber Orchestra, with whom she has enjoyed the opportunity to play overseas in addition to across Hampshire. Whilst at St.Swithun’s School, where she was a Music Exhibitioner, she has been a member of several ensembles, including chamber and baroque groups. She recently obtained a distinction in her ARSM Diploma for performance on the violin.
Freya’s introduction to brass instruments initially came through playing the cornet in the Andover Town Band junior group, following which she moved across to the French Horn when she was 10. As a horn player she has been a member of the National Children’s Orchestra, in addition to the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra.
Freya also plays the piano, and from September 2025 is studying at Peter Symonds Sixth Form College.
